Reading Development

Support with the Phonics Screening Check or KS1 and 2 Reading SATs
In Year 1 nationally, children take a statutory assessment called the 'Phonics Screening Check' (PSC). This is done in your child's setting by a familiar adult. It will be also be repeated in Year 2 for any children who didn't reach the pass mark.
I can support your learner to prepare for this check, in a fun way, to give them the confidence, skills and knowledge needed.
The KS1 SATs are no longer compulsory for schools but many schools are still using them as they give them an indication of children's progress. I can support your child to prepare for this so that they go in to the assessment feeling relaxed and confident.
